This antique French mirror reflects the quiet elegance of the Louis-Philippe style, popular from circa 1830 to 1850. Its simple, rounded frame and gentle curves are characteristic of the period’s refined, unfussy aesthetic. The frame has been recently painted in matte black, a contemporary update that enhances its dramatic presence while maintaining its classic silhouette. The original mirror glass displays charming foxing, with speckles and soft clouding that resemble a delicate astral pattern, like a constellation gently scattered across its surface.

This aged patina not only tells the story of its age but also lends a uniquely atmospheric quality. Ideal for adding subtle drama and historical depth, it works beautifully above a mantel, in an entryway, or as a moody focal point in a bedroom or study.

Note: Mirrors have been photographed facing fabric, a technique that reveals any age spots in the glass. In some cases, this may create the appearance of an empty frame, but each mirror is complete except where explicitly stated.

Condition and patina consistent with age.
