This elegant set of six bentwood chairs from the first half of the 20th century captures the understated refinement of 1930s French design. The high, upright backrests are formed from gracefully curved bentwood and feature subtly carved fluting that adds depth and elegance to their silhouette. The gently tapered legs, adorned with subtle curves and delicately flared feet, enhance the overall finesse and balanced silhouette of the design.
Though unmarked, the craftsmanship reflects the enduring influence of the Viennese Secession and French Art Deco movements. The seats are upholstered in vintage brown faux leather, adding a warm tone and period character to the ensemble. One seat shows significant wear and will need to be replaced, but the rest display charming signs of age consistent with their history. Their timeless elegance and quality make them perfect for a stylish dining room, a bistro-style breakfast nook, or as individual accent chairs throughout the home.
Condition and patina consistent with age.
