Poised mid-leap, this charming faience stag captures the strength and grace of the animal with striking realism. Modeled in ceramic and glazed in a warm palette of chestnut, forest green, and stone grey, the figure is full of movement and presence. The anatomical detailing, expressive posture, and textural variation reflect the sculptural quality associated with Belgian ceramist Hubert Bequet. While unsigned, the form and finish bear a strong resemblance to his work. The figure’s removable resin antlers, a known feature of Bequet's stag models, suggest thoughtful design and allow for easy transport and display. A small “5” is marked on the base, likely referencing a mold number from the original workshop.

The piece remains in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks, and retains its original glaze with beautiful depth and luster. Ideal on a console, mantel, or within a nature-inspired vignette, this sculptural figure brings a note of mid-century elegance and alpine character to both rustic and refined interiors. A fine decorative object with roots in the artistic ceramic traditions of postwar Europe.
