The 20-year-old Manchester City academy product joined Portsmouth on a season-long loan this summer and has been a regular starter for John Moushino’s side.

On Tuesday, Robertson scored his first goal of his senior career against Burton Albion in the 63rd minute to help Pompey snatch a 2-0 win.

The Manchester City loanee admitted that he is over the moon with his first goal and revealed that he has been working to get on the scoresheet since the first day he stepped foot into Fratton Park.

Robertson also stated that he has experienced a feeling of a massive weight being lifted from his shoulders after his first senior goal.

When asked about his feelings regarding his first senior goal, Robertson told Portsmouth’s media: “Buzzing! over the moon

“It is kind of a big weight off my shoulders because I have been wanting that and working for it since I first came.

“I think after the first interview after the Exeter game, I said my performance could have been better with a goal and I went about 10 to 12 games on not scoring, so to be able to score tonight and even better to get the result was very nice.

“It was a really good feeling.”

Robertson has turned some heads with his performances for Pompey this season and he will be hoping to impress Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola before he returns to the Etihad Stadium in the summer.
